Rainforest Tour of the Osa Peninsula & Corcovado National Park 4 days/3 nights

Costa Rica Rainforest Tour

Corcovado and the Osa Peninsula is one of the last places in Costa Rica to be settled - it is only within the last 10 years that it has had road access - and consequently much of the Peninsula is still covered in majestic, pristine rainforest. At least half of the Osa's extensive tracts of rainforest and swamps are protected by Corcovado National Park, and Private Reserves. Its forests are home to endangered species such as Baird's tapir, the white-lipped peccary, the jaguars the America crocodiles, and the harpy eagle.

Rainforest Tour of the Osa Peninsula & Corcovado National Park

The secluded Osa Peninsula is on the Southwest Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, adjacent to Corcovado National Park. Corcovado National Park has been called "the most biologically intense place on earth" by National Geographic. The Corcovado National Park is home to many large mammals, jaguar, tapir, ocelot, collared and white-lipped peccaries, giant anteaters and an incredible number of birds.

Here visitors have the best chance to actually see this tropical wildlife, or at least have the thrill of seeing some recent sign of them and knowing that they are in the habitat of these majestic creatures. On the northern part of the Osa Peninsula nestled near the banks of the Rio Agujitas is where Drake Bay is located and where there are various lodges (Aguila de Osa, La Paloma, Casa Corcovado, Drake Bay Wilderness Lodge).

From the beach you can snorkel among the volcanic rock heads, enjoy the tidal pools, hike along the extensive beaches, visit the local village, take a guided tour to Corcovado National Park, Horseback ride, Scuba Dive, swim or just relax.

Days 2 - 3

Spend two days exploring the area. Package includes guided tours and park entrance fees to both Caño Island and Corcovado National Park.

Day 4

On the final morning return to San Jose by doing a reverse of the trip in.

Note

Depending on which lodge you stay for the three nights, your transportation may vary somewhat, domestic flight may be operated directly to Drake Bay area Airstrip.
