Poas Volcano
Northwest of San Jose, the Poas Volcano is as captivating as the famous Irazu. Towered to 9.000 ft. Poas is a phenomenon in its own class. Its active crater occasionally erupts with a discharge of smoke and steam.
En route to Poas Volcano, you will drive through Alajuela and pass the statue of Juan Santamaria, Lake Frijanes and Poasito village. On the way back to San Jose, stop at El recreo Restaurant for lunch.
