NICARAGUA SURF TOURS BOOK NOW! 1-800-493-8426 |

Surfing in Nicaragua is incredibly safe and the people are
amazingly friendly.
The surf in Nicaragua blows offshore all day here so you get two long sessions a day, most guys
have a hard time keeping up.
The surf in Nicaragua is as good as Costa Rica but without the ever present parking lot full of rental cars. We have got a well-trained crew that makes your Nicaragua surf trip effortless and lots of fun without the usual surf trip headaches plus an English-speaking driver who whisks you to San Juan del Sur in one and a half hours after he meets you at the airport.
We have had 17 years to figure out the effects of swell size direction and tides
on these ten waves and Tico Travel can customize your trip to the group’s abilities and
surfing preferences on a daily basis. Nicaragua surfing has several really good quality beach
breaks that range from cruisey long board to short board barrels. There is a
left point that can only be described as perfect when it is on. A powerful reef
break called Ponga Drops and the classic two way peak at Papoyo.
What makes this surf package?
First and foremost. Boats. Another thing to note is that we are 20 steps from the boats.
No driving for 30 minutes to get to the boat. We can have you on waves in 7
minutes. You also have unlimited use of the boats and no schedule to follow. You
surf when you want where you want everyday.
SAN JUAN DEL SUR -
HIDDEN BAY SURF LODGE: More secluded than San Juan Del Sur, but closer
to where you want to be - THE SURF! Brand new custom-built Nicaragua surf lodge is right on the beach. The four bedrooms
come with A/C and their own bath with hot and cold running water. There is
satellite internet access and skype in the great room of the surf lodge.
Bring your laptop! A boat and captain stand at the ready to take you surfing to
any of the breaks — five to twenty minutes away. ** Did you know this about us?

NICARAGUA SURF PACKAGE
In Hidden Bay (you’ll learn the local name when you get here) I’ve tried to
preserve the ambiance of a Nicaraguan fishing village. I have limited the
foreign staff to myself and maybe one other. My captains don’t surf so you
have one less guy competing with you for waves. Part of the mystery of new
surf spots is lost when you are led around by a guide. I try to keep the
impact low and the idea of a full service gringo compound defeats the
purpose of surf travel IMO. I let my clients pay normal dinner prices in the
local restaurants. This gives you a chance to interact with the locals and
honestly the whole paying for the meal is one of the most meaningful
interactions of a surf trip to a foreign country. You are injecting your
money directly into the local economy. You can change dollars into cordobas
with us on the first day and we buy back your cords on the last.
We pick you up at the airport in a brand new small bus with a/c and drinks
in a cooler (beer if you like just let me know). We do smoothies / granola /
yogurt / fruit in the early mornings and full breakfast when you get back or
for late mornings. Usual breakfast is omelets / banana pancakes / texas
style breakfast tacos - just depends on what we have that day. Lunch is
usually something like: catch of the day fish tacos mex style / owen burgers
/ sandwiches with some side or sushi. Dinner can range from beer butt
chicken to pizza to catch of the day fish to sushi to pho soup. ya never
know for dinner.
We have 2 killer boats to run you around in. We try to break big groups up
into 2 boats even if were going to the same place. We provide you with soft
drinks and water in the house and on the boats. Beers are available to
purchase on the boat and in the house, we run you a tab till the end of the
week. We also have wireless network in the house and a internet phone to use
to call home, bring your notebook if you want to be able to plug back into
the world.
Keep in mind that you won't need to rent a car, which many surfers will tell
you is one of the most annoying and costly parts of a "road" surf trip. We
make it possible for you to spend your time doing exactly what you want,
whether it’s surfing all day or not. I can say with confidence that you'll
have an experience you'll never forget. One of my recent guests called his
trip ”an unpredictable adventure.”
20 steps to the boat and the water from the back porch
7 minutes to 7 different breaks by boat
14 breaks to choose from![]()
All trips include airport transfers and daily surf trips on either of our
flagship boats, the Masayita 2, or Michelle our speedy Panga set up specifically
for surfing. We have the most experienced crew and best outfitted fleet in
Hidden Bay area. We also have the outrigger canoe and a backup boat La Gaviota.
Our captains have fished these waters long before surfers came looking for
waves, and know the Nicaragua pacific better than the Dorado jumping in the bay.
All three boats have canopy covered roof tops(an absolute must have, one bad
sunburn could ruin your trip) to keep the blazing sun off of you while in
transport. The boats will have coolers full of soda, water, and beer.
