Nicaragua Travel and Hotel Information

At just under two hours from Miami or two and one half hours from Houston, Managua is a very close destination. Grupo Taca and other U.S. airlines offer direct flights from cities such as Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, New Orleans, Washington and Dallas.

A passport is needed, valid for at least six months after the date of entry into the country. Visas are not required for visitors from most countries. Instead, tourist cards must be purchased for US$ 5.00 at the airport upon entry into Nicaragua.

Visitors to Nicaragua can use the driver’s licenses from their home countries for 30 days after entry into Nicaragua.Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted in many establishments.

Don’t forget your camera, sun block, bathing suit, hat, and insect repellant to prevent mosquito bites, which are common in tropical climates
