Tamarindo is the ideal location for a great Costa Rica sport fishing vacation. One the most beautiful and visited beaches on the Northwest Pacific coast of Costa Rica, it's easily accessible by land and air, and offers a variety of activities and accommodations. The Costa Rica fishing waters in front of Tamarindo are well known as one of the world's "hot spots" for a variety of species and we can put you on the action in a very short run time.

Boat and Crew:
"Osprey" is a 31 ft. Rampage powered by twin 300 HP Detroit Diesels. The boat is fully equipped to assure a safe and successful angling experience both off shore and in shore. State of the art electronics are on board including GPS, depth sounder and radar. Osprey is fully equipped by Shimano for offshore as well as inshore angling.

For your comfort, "Osprey" provides a full cabin with walk -in bathroom and plenty of shade on deck. Lunches, snacks, sodas, beer and bottles water are provided. We prefer to limit our parties to four anglers. With over 15 years aboard the "Osprey", our crew is among the most experienced and reliable in the area. They are also excellent teachers to newcomers to the sport. They are committed to conservation ethics in sport fishing. Catch-and-release is practiced on all bill fish. With food species, the practice is keep what you can eat and release the rest.

Costa Rica Fishing:
Billfish, Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna and many other species can be caught year round, however mid-May through mid-August is best as far as numbers of sailfish go. Marlin fishing peaks from November through March.

January and February are the windiest months but seas are perfectly fishable and marlin action is good. March and April are good variety months for Billfish, Tuna and Reef Fish, as is the period from November to December. Other species frequently taken include Roosterfish, Amberjack, Wahoo and Rainbow Runner. 

A four acre reef just a few miles off the beach, which rises to within a hundred feet of the surface, is home to big Cubera Snapper, Grouper and other Reef Fish.  A 20 minute run time puts you out at the continental shelf where you can start trolling for Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Bigeye and Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo and Dorado.
