A 42’ Maverick Costa Rica Sport Fishing Yacht

She is a Costa Rica Charter boat powered by 455 h.p. C-7 Cats with a 9kw Northern Lights gen set. Her beam is 13 feet. At 14 degrees dead rise, needs no trim tabs at all.Fully loaded cruise speed at 75% power is a true 26 knots. The hull is laminated with 4 crossed layers of ¼”cold-molded laurel blanco, a light weight strong substitute for mahogany covered with protective layers of fiberglass.

The superstructure is Meranti marine plywood incased in fiberglass and faired to perfection. The Maverick comes fully equipped, ready to fish with 25kw X band radar, 5,000’ Echosounder, GPS Navigator on Nav-Net screens, Simrad Autopilot, Two VHF Radios, And JBL Stereo.

Full size head forward. The range can be up to 700 miles on 450 gallons of fuel. The Bite is a hard top but a tuna tower is an option.

We wanted to let you know the entire trip went extremely well.

She was beautiful. Less than two years old. The first two hours were anticipatory, but the very good crew found us a feeding dolphin pod, resulting in 6 tuna on, 5 to the boat and 4 in. We had tuna Thursday and Friday night! Nothing like fresh sashimi and tuna steaks! Priceless!! I was the last one to step up to the plate and wrestled a sailfish to the boat - my first, very cool! I reeled for what seemed like an hour but was probably 25 minutes. I'll send some proof along with a shot of the boat. The captain estimated 120 lbs.

Thanks again for the trip of a lifetime. My kids loved it and we will be back and tell all our friends at NASA!
