We invite you to experience a day of world class bill-fishing. A 42’ boat designed specifically for sport fishing based out of the beautiful Los Sueños Resort and Marina in Costa Rica. The crew has a combined total of over 50 years experience in sport fishing world wide.

The Shotgun is located at the Los Suenos resort & marina and is outfitted with the best tackle on the market in a variety of 20-80lb gear.

The boat is crewed by a local English speaking captain & two mates. Owner of the Shotgun, Captain Mitch Pierson will take you on a fishing experience that will surely complete “the most exciting time of my life” from your bucket list.

Capt. Mitch and his crew will lead you to catch any of the species below.

MARLIN are available year round with the best months being January through September. Blue & Black Marlin are the most abundant With fish averaging 200-400 lbs with some monsters in the 600-800 lb range.

SAILFISH Are the most abundant fish & are available all year, with December through May being the best months.  10-20 fish days are common & fish average 80-100 lbs.

YELLOW FIN TUNA are caught anytime and are mostly found around the dolphin schools with fish up to 300 lbs.

DORADO or MAHI MAHI are caught regularly when we are trolling for sailfish & marlin.

ROOSTERFISH are found year round & offer some great action with many fish in the 50-90 lb range being landed.  

A letter from Captain Mitch Pierson

My 30 year fishing career started in 1978 at the age of 15, with charter fishing out of the Indian River Inlet in Delaware for 3 years. In April 1981 at the age of 18, I was issued my first Captains license. In the fall of 1981, I left sportfishing for a period of 3 years and began long lining for swordfish from the Grand Banks to the Gulf of Mexico. In 1984 I returned to sportfishing and started a career of both running charters and fishing tournaments. In 25 years of fishing tournaments from New Jersey to Florida, through the Caribbean and into the Pacific Ocean, placing in over 50 tournaments and winning in excess of $2 million of prize money. After years of fishing all the billfish hotspots, I have made a permanent move to Costa Rica, after fishing here on and off since the year 2000. In 2006 I made it my final stop, purchasing a custom 42 foot charter boat.
